Leigh, I cannot believe the breadth and depth of your website, and you. And it keeps changing (updating). What a wonderful discovery in a sometimes blasé medium. You are a wonderful find. Where was I in the 1970's (born in 1953) when I could have made an impression on you? As I'm you know, the 70's affected people in many different ways, not always positive. You must be flooded with suitors (ah, to dream again). I have been to Zia twice and will be back routinely until I die, it is a wonderful place. I did visit some interesting places when I was young, but Mexico was beyond my scope of thought. You are so interesting, or the greatest hoodwinker ever. How do you say hoodwinker in Spanish? On my next trip to Zia, I will keep my eyes and ears open for you. What a memory it would be to have some contact with you. Thanks for making my web browsing more interesting and my visits to Zia more rewarding. Good people are so obvious.

We must highly recommend Leigh Roth's services - The Zihuatanejo Connection. Leigh is a wealth of info on Zihuatanejo and offers a very efficient vacation rental booking service (which we're using). Leigh will also send you some very comprehensive information about Z when you're making your booking and also admirably encourages you to bring old books, clothes etc and leave them behind with her for passing on to some of the poorer local residents.

Your web site is great!

Dear Ms. Roth,
First I'd like to thank you for your wonderful web site. Anthony Smith from Seattle suggested we contact you about our upcoming trip to Zihuatanejo. We've looked around at your website and it looks like we made a great choice for our vacation!

Dear Leigh,
My name is Beth Grilley. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. I came across your website as I was looking for information for both a visit back to Zihuatenejo and possible purchase of some sort of home. I very much liked your website and what you stand for and what you have done and I would love to learn more about it.

I discovered your very helpful page while researching a stay in Zihuatanejo Thank you in advance for any help you can give me, and keep up the good work on the website.

So I wanted to
write a quick email to you, letting you know how much I have enjoyed reading
about you. I sinceraly regret never meeting you in Zihuatanejo in my
3travels bumming around as an artist musician there. You certainly would
have been a breath of fresh air compared to the gringo idiots I hung around
there. You are extemely interesting, a very Strong Woman that the world
should know much more about. I have been touched by your follies

only to let you know someone has a lot of respect for
who you are and where you have been. You are a bit of a living hero to me
and so much so I worry for your safety after reading many of your articles,
(and I don't even know you personally). PLEASE DON't EVER change!

Greetings,

I thought your web page was a good read.  A witty woman indeed !

Hi dude,

I diagnosed myself as MANIC when on a 12 month touring sabatical around Asia 2 years ago.  I told my family from over there and they didn't want to know about it.  They still don't, or just want me fixed, or put on drugs.

I have since returned to Uni, currently doing a Commerce/Law degree, while also doing two Diploma's via the internet, one in banking and Finance, one in Hydrography.

Your sight makes me laugh and I cetainly hope that I have finally found a group of people that truly understnad that there is really nothing to understand, apart from the fact that I just want to be me.

I have since been diagnosed by one million so-called experts as a Hypomaniac.  Big deal I say,  have always been the same and all that anyone can truly hope for is consistency.  Isn't it??

I now live in Australia, however I have been constantly looking for a reason to leave.  I have been offered English teaching jobs in Japan, Thailand and the Middle East.  I will be leaving this country shortly anyway.  I don't really know where I want to go yet, maybe South America.  I have been drawn there for years and love the Spanish language, not that I speak much of it.  Being a student, airfares are pretty cheap.

As a result of my familiy refusing to let me be, I rarely talk to any of them apart from my mother.  And that ain't usually that calm.

Anyway mate, I'm fit, happy and healthy at 30.  I'm happily single and really happy when by myself or submersing myself in different cultures.  I don't need much sleep or food, even though I indulge when I can.  I love women and being with them, however Aussie women are generally extremely pretentious, niave and ignorant, just like Aussie men :)

Anyway, good to make contact and I love your work.  Keep it up because it has brought a smile to my dial.

Regards,

Dear Leigh,

I came across your website because (of all things) I was looking for info about how what dose of Kaomycin to take -- and your site actually had the right info!  (I had some in the cabinet and needed to use it, but of course the directions say the "dosis es lo que señale el médico", which doesn´t do much good when you buy it OTC at a farmacia with no médico to tell you the dosis!)  Anyway I started checking out your many links and have to say I find your site totally fascinating!  Looking fwd to seeing what you have to say about dating Mexican men (I can well imagine), once all those 404s have been replaced with real links.  I am a gay middle aged gringo who moved to Cuernavaca, Morelos back in the late ´90s to be with my (then) partner, a younger Mexican man.  I am sure you and I could exchange tales!  Anyway I am back living in the US, just barely (in El Paso, TX right on the border with Cd. Juárez, Chih., which is not even remotely like the "real México" we know and love so well), but have so many fond memories of living in México (and aggrevating ones, like the time the Aduana police confiscated my car and I never got it back... live and learn, good old Mexican "justicia").  I like what you said about moving out of the US and its have-it-all mentality and materialism to a country where people are more attuned to what really matters.  I miss that about living in Cuernavaca.  Never been to Zihuatanejo, but sure hope to someday.

Anyway, keep on kicking ass, and thanx for taking the time to put up so much great info (and baring your soul).

Que tengas un muy buen fin de semana,

Jeff E (aka Jefe!)
(Loved the photos of your ex-"dates", by the way.  You are the coolest, Leigh.)

I spent more time yesterday on your site (I can see it will take many hours to see all it has to offer).  Really fascinating, funny, true, scary, insightful stuff.  Plus some hot shots of you!  I wrote earlier about your having bared your soul, well now I realize there was even more you bared!  Good for you.  I have bookmarked your site, even saved it to my desktop to refer to often.  And will turn my friends on to it.  Zihua looks absolutely wonderful, and I will get my ass down there someday and book thru you for sure.  Casa Leigh y Loros looks like just what I would want my vacation home away from home to be.  (Or my home, period!)

Maybe I´ll end up living in MX again in the future, who knows.

Te deseo todo lo mejor,

Jeff

Hi Missy,

I love crazy girls and I think you definitely fill the bill.

We were having a hurricane here today so I ended up web surfing and
finding your convoluted website. I felt as if I had crawled in a
clothes dryer and some one turned on the power.

Very interesting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your site and sentiments are a breath of fresh air. Thank you! I connected immediately with it. I first suspected that I was ADHD but then I learned of hypomania. And from your site I learned what may possibly explain the religious fixation and the thoughts of religious, epic romantic love.

People tell me that I'm a freak or crazy -- and you know what I tell them?

"Yeah -- and the water's fine...!" ;)

Subject: What a Great site

Hola Leigh
I just spent an hour + trolling around your site. Its the funniest, most
imaginative site I've ever seen. You should write a book, or become a
subject for a documentary or better still 'make' a documentary.

Dear Leigh,

After reading your reply, I couldn't refrain from sending you another email. I must admit that after reading a few of your writings, I realized that it was also therapeutic. Then I began to wonder how many others out in cyber space needs someone like you to continue your website. You are straightforward, honest and vulnerable at the same time. It's not easy to pour yourself out on the Internet.

I am sure so many others feel and think the same way I do about your site...that we are "not alone" and that it is okay to be human and to reveal our true self.  So continue on the road (as you put it) to professional suicide for the betterment of all Mankind!

Another thing I want to add is that your website is definitely not boring. It educates and entertains. I bet anyone who comes across your site can always click out with a smile or a chuckle.

 May God bless you always.
Lily
