AWESOME! The condo exceeded
our expectations and Zihua...WOW!...What afantastic "village".
A clean and beautiful setting without the glitz and
commercialization of the resort areas. We loved it!
The grounds at the condo were
remarkable...everything was impeccable. The
air conditioning was greatly appreciated as we needed a few days
to
acclimate. The staff was unobtrusive while being extremely efficient
and
gracious.
Thank you SOOOO much for the
helpful e-mails, including the Spanish driving
directions to VSS. Luis gave us a guided tour of the area which
was
invaluable and aided our getting around. We dined like royalty
at several
of the beach restaurants and especially enjoyed our meals at Elvira.
As difficult as it is to get
my husband "out of town", I'm sure you can
expect to hear from us in the not too distant future for a return
trip.
Again, Muchas Gracias! Your
hospitality will be remembered.

Thank you SOOO MUCH for recommending
Villas San Francisco!!! Our stay in Unit #9 was everything we
fantasized and better. Upon arrival, we walked into the room to
the most fantastic, beautiful view from the entire hillside I
am sure! After our first night (an anniversary dinner of lobster
with our toes in the sand, right at the waters edge) my husband
stated "This is exactly what I wanted, but never thought
possible." Let me tell you, my husband hates crowds, fancy
hotels, and tourist stuff! He was so impressed with the condo,
the PRIVACY, we hardly ever heard or saw another person, and the
staff was so sweet, friendly and efficient! Mari thoughtfully
placed cut flowers on our bed, in the bath, and on the table.
The room was impeccably clean, and the living area had every necessary
convenience, (refrig, coffee pot, blender, microwave, etc.)
We had to laugh, every morning we awoke to the roosters crowing,
the donkeys braying, and the sound of the ocean waves crashing.
Complete heaven!! I could go on and on about how the food was
so fabulous (seafood every night). The drinks served to us under
the palapas, etc. I might have stayed forever, if it wasn't for
missing my kids at home, next time we bring them along! LaRopa
beach is the cleanest, nicest beach! We were unimpressed with
Ixtapa, only stayed for lunch at Carlos & Charlies (which
was great) and a quick walk on the beach and thru the shops --
couldn't wait to get back "home" to Villa San Francisco!
Leigh, Thank you so much! We
are so grateful for the recommendation, we will definitely be
back, and go through you again! We referred several couples to
go through you for their next vacation, (they all wanted to be
where we were)!!
'Til next time..... Susan and Dale Fero
Our stay was fantastic. Mari,
the maid, and Irenio, the gardener were very
nice to us and did a great job of keeping our Villa stay enjoyable.
We did a
lot of relaxing, and even more eating. The folks at Villa del
Sol knew us by
name by the time we departed. Several evening meals were enjoyed
at the Puesto del Sol up on the road to Zihua. We highly recommend
the table chef's efforts and watching him cook up a Spanish Coffee
at tableside is pretty incredible.
We loved our time spent in Zihuatanejo and hope to return sometime.
We brought lots of clothes down for the gardener and our maid,
and
left the rest with a tour guide for his uncle and relatives in
Petatlan. We
brought so many that it broke the handle off the oversized suitcase
and we had to leave it behind...
Thanks, Kevin

We absolutely loved Villa San
Francisco and Zihuatanejo. We'd like to come back with family
and rent the entire place for a week so expect to hear from us
again. I can't even begin to say what we liked best, perhaps just
La Ropa...we didn't care whether we went anywhere else the entire
time, at least not for our first visit! But the open air atmosphere
of the "villa" is a close second. Spent one brief morning
in Ixtapa (had the kids at the Dolphinarium). It took no more
than 5 seconds to know we were glad to be staying south. The staff
was wonderful, helpful and friendly. It's was a great experience.
Thanks and you will hear from
us again! Carol Admire JOHN D ADMIRE <admire@flash.net>

5 Apr 2001 14:33:19 EDT We had a great stay @ San Francisco. I
must say that the view from our unit was superb. The facilities
were very clean throughout. Lillia was a very gracious host, and
was very helpful in a number of ways. Please tell her we said
muchas gracias again. All in all it was a great trip, with wonderful
weather and lots of good food. Thanks. Ron Briggs
Our three families had a
wonderful time at Villas San Francisco March 8-12.
The rooms were clean and the staff very helpful, in spite of our
limited Spanish. They did delighful arrangements of towels and
wash cloths! La Ropa beach lived up to its reputation! Waiters
at the Sunset Grill also did a great job and the food was very
tasty.
We'll certainly get in touch with you if we visit the area again.

Fantastic! Probably the most
stress-free, relaxing vacation
we've ever been on. You've got a beautiful place, the staff is
wonderful, the beach is magnificient, and everything's very very
convenient. We ended up getting day passes at the Villa Del Sol,
and
really took full advantage of that place. Great pools!

Zihua was great. Of course, it
was much bigger and developed than the Zihua I remembered from
l970 but it still felt good. We spent a lot of time on La Ropa,
hanging out at La Perla. Did some exploring on foot up the hills
at the end of La Ropa, met John Cahill from Casa Cuitlateca (what
an incredible place), found a nice taxi driver who gave us a ride
to Petatlan and Barra de Potossi, and then a scenic ride home all
along the beach road. Villa San Francisco is great, nicely maintained,
great view. My husband loved the place and wrote down a 100 numbers
to call for lots. Though that will never happen - we would like
to investigate renting a place for the winter - a couple years
from now. Thank you for a wonderful opportunity to revisit a place
from my past

I absolutely love Mexico and
its people and have been planning to go there
for a 3-6 month period in the near future to teach English. I
decided while
in Zihuatanejo that that is the place I want to be. My friends
and I met a
waiter and he is trying to help find resources for information
on teaching
English there or in Ixtapa. Any information pr leads you have
as well would
be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, I am glad that I found
your site on the web. The trip was well
worth the money and effort. Thank you for your assistance! Also,
please
thank Luis and his sister Lilya. If possible, please also give
my regards
to Maria and Patti of Patti's Restaurant.

We just returned from our vacation. I just wanted to drop you
a note and let
you know that everything was perfect. We could not have chosen
a better
place to stay.
Nancy was very helpful, too.
She set us up with a fishing guide (Hiram) who
was also excellent and we would recommend him to others. We ended
up
catching a 200-pound tuna, the largest Hiram had ever caught with
his boat.
We donated it to his family's restaurant (after enjoying some
great tuna
steaks ourselves, of course). We were all novices at deep sea
fishing - it
was just something we wanted to try once. But it gave us a whole
new respect for the local fishermen -- what hard work!!
Other than a day fishing, we
just swam, walked on the beach and relaxed at
the villa, which we really enjoyed.
I see why you love Zihuatanejo
so much. We will be back, and we will try to
steer our friends your way, too.

It was great!!!! Very nice
accommadations, kids loved the pool.
Mari was very nice and did a great job. My brother and his wife
are
thinking of coming down in November, so I have suggested they
contact
you. Thanks again for everything, it's a real drag being back
at work!
Hi LeighJust want you to know
that we love Zihua . . .
The apartment was perfect! Just what we needed for a good rest.

Tue, Jan 4, 2000,
We had a wonderful time
and Villa San Francisco a pleasant place to stay.
Zihuatanejo has changed over the last 11 eleven years (not all
for the
better) but has retained its best for the visitor.
I hope that it won't be another 11 years before our return but
we do hope
to return to the high ground of Villa San Francisco
and look forward to sunning ourselves around pool #2.
Please extend our warm appreciation
to Luis Valle. If possible please
share with him our deep thanks to the Villa staff,
particularly Mari and Jose, for their help and service.
The only real deficiency on
our trip was the failure to catch fish. We
were skunked. No worse fate can befall fishers.

We absolutely loved it!
Very hard (perhaps for me especially) to come home. We found Luis
extremely helpful and a wonderful host. Perhaps our best day was
a boat ride with a fine man named Amado who lives at Playa Las
Gatas. He took us in his small but very nice fishing boat to Ixtapa
Island where we relaxed, swam, and snorkeled. On the way back
we caught three Bonitos, saw Grey whales and witnessed a school
of flying needle fish.
Amado took us back to his home on the beach where his wife prepared
ceviche and filets with our catch. It was a wonderful, rich experience
we won't forget.
We also took a nice driving tour out to Petatlan and to Playa
Larga. On the way we visited a young couple that was making roof
tiles out in the middle of nowhere. All the people seemed so content
and enriched (emotionally). There are certainly many valuable
lessons we can learn from them.
The Villa was great - loved the open concept and the large verandah.
Playa La Ropa was wonderful. We frequented a particular restaurant
on the south end of the beach where Carlos and Jose began to get
to know us.
The rest of our time was spent relaxing, reading, drinking, eating,
swimming, playing frisbee, etc. etc.
I think we will definitely return someday.
Thank you so much for the help - we could not have had the experience
we did without it.
With Zihuat still in our hearts,
John, Kim, Tom and Jeni
We had a wonderful time at VSS. We never used the kitchen due
to laziness, but that would never prevent us from renting again.
I was hoping to buy one of those $3 roast chickens, but will wait
until next year. The villa was always immaculate and Mari and
her girls were delightful. Nancy was at the villa on arrival as
promised and was very helpful. We had some interesting encounters
with bats on a nightly basis, which added to the charm and list
of stories for our friends. My wife and I are now looking for
friends to join is next year. Thank you for your help and I'll
look forward to booking with you next year.

a great ambiance.
Jose and Mari were very nice and keep the place very clean. We
also enjoyed
meeting Luis and he helped us out with various questions. Altogether,
we were very happy at the VSS! It was a great honeymoon!
Thanks for all your help and guidance. We had a wonderful trip

I've been meaning to write to say what a great time we had on
our trip.
Villa San Francisco was perfect. Off season is truly that. We
were all grateful to have air-conditioned bedrooms in #2. We spent
a lot of time snorkeling and swimming to beat the heat. The kids
enjoyed having their private pool. As a builder I was astonished
at the vertical climb the workers made with materials to build
the new units above ours. Built with nothing but hard physical
labor. We had a great vacation -though too short.
Sincerely, Jim Dauterman jimd@iglobal.net
My boyfriend and I stayed
at your villa in August of 1997,
and we had the best vacation ever. When we return, we would
like the same room (I believe it was #1, with the balcony
pictured on your web site.) Please let us know of the availability
of that one. Thank you! combsj@uchastings.edu
Leigh-The Schwartz family had
a wonderful time with no difficulties. (1
jelly fish bite that was well attended to by Dr. Grayeb. . Thanks
for you assistance. Bill Schwartz
Dear Leigh, This is a post
from Michele Davis. We returned home late last night from our
2 weeks in Mexico. As you may remember I rented 2 units from you
last winter for my family and my brothers family. I especially
wanted things to go well because it was my brother's first trip
to Mexico and he and his 2 children would be arriving before myself.
I rented your unit #1 for them and unit #4 for my family of 4.
They were very happy with the accommodations and especially. the
nice pool for evening swims. The location was great and things
seemed well cared for. There was one problem that they encountered.
"The Great Towel Mystery" As the days went on Mari (
Maria) was less and less friendly to my brother and he couldn't
figure out what the deal was .........he speaks no Spanish and
was unable to converse. Finally one day the closet that the towels
etc. were kept in was wired shut and for days no towels were replaced......he
asked for more towels and she did not want to give him any! Well,
when my husband was able to help them the mystery was solved..........My
brother had put the towels in the correct "basket" which
was never checked by staff and she thought he was taking the towels.
. He was happy with everything else. We had a great stay at the
Villas, and would recommend them to anyone. I think any time you
rent to so many different people, many whom do not speak the language.
that misunderstandings happen.......the place is great and we've
stayed at a few!
Sincerely, Michele Davis MGDMOON@aol.com

We had a nice time down there. It was super hot, so the air conditioner
was great in order to sleep. I liked being so near the beach,
and was really glad that it wasn't super touristy. The room was
kept very clean and the staff there are adorable. We left a bunch
of clothes/shoes, so hopefully those will be useful to someone.
We also went to Ixtapa Island to snorkel and rented a kayak one
day. It was a fun vacation, thanks!
"Davies, Barry" <Barry.Davies@courts.gov.bc.ca>
We had a superb time. We all hope to visit again.
Mon, 18 Feb 2002 Our time in
your place was, once again, great. Many thanks. And we love
your new air conditioner. And we discovered some new restaurants.
One you probably know...it's on the other side of the bridge in
town. It's called Punta Rinas (sp?). A great little place. And
we also ate at the yacht club overlooking the bay. Great food,
too, although a bit pricier. And then went downstairs to the
bar that just opened there for 10 peso beers. Can't beat that.
Best regards, Marty Kaplan, Ph.D.
