Answer: 99% of MY clients go to Zihuatanejo over Ixtapa. Discussion on Madera vs La Ropa, and Ixtapa versus Zihuatanejo at end of document. My advice: sleep as close to the surf as you can, and don't chose a location based on 'what beach it is on.' You are not sleeping on the sand. Chose your property based on amenities and price. All the beaches are accessible in a heartbeat.
