Zihuatanejo from the Zihuatanejo Connection
In the early and mid
1990's these coloring books were for sale aorund Zihuatanejo
The author wintered here,
drew fast as a demon, did amazing work, and taught claseses too.
Ansayre also was a dream therapist. I bought much of her sketches
which are still in my hoomes and the homes of others. As a present,
she handcolored the sketchbook for me, which I have guarded it
for many years, utnil now I have a way to share it with those
of Zihuatanejo.
Since it is too expensive
to publish color I am sending you my on-the-spot drawings with
notes so you can fill in the colors yourself and share my discovery
of this little topical Paradise nestled in the white sands of
Playa La Ropa protected by a little bay that leads out into the
great Pacific Ocean.
Zihuatanejo was a
little fishing village not too long ago where people still bring
in tremendous fish and live on red snappers. It has, over the
years, attracted many tourists, but most of them stay in Ixtapa
in high rise hotels and leave this place to the ones of us who
like to live simply under palapa roof, lounge in the hammocks,
and sleep under moquito nets. We accept that we may share space
with scorpions, the Madre de Alicran, wandering bulls, beach dogs,
and the snake in the kitchen sink.
